Adrian Karmazyn

Adrian Karmazyn is the Chief of the Ukrainian Service of the Voice of America.  He is responsible for directing and overseeing news coverage, managing a team of nearly twenty journalists and engaging in broadcasting partnerships with Ukrainian television networks.

VOA Ukrainian produces the daily Chas-Time news program, the daily Studio Washington news segment, the weekly Window on America magazine show and numerous special reports for the Ukrainian TV market.

The service partners with many television outlets, including Channel 5, First National, ICTV and Channel 24, and reaches about 18% of the adult audience in Ukraine in a given week. Adrian has been in charge of the Ukrainian Service’s television strategy since 2004.

In his 26 years with VOA he has also served as a reporter, producer, program manager and development officer. Adrian Karmazyn completed a B.A. in History at The Ohio State University and a M.A. in Russian and East European Studies at the University of Michigan. He is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is married, and has a daughter and a son.
